Welcome to the first e-news about housing affordability in the Gorge!
As you know, the cost of renting or buying a home is increasingly out of reach for all of us. Our housing affordability challenge puts us at risk of losing what has made the Gorge and our diverse hometowns a wonderful place to live, work and play.
We have the opportunity to address the challenge now, before the situation becomes worse, to foster the kind of diverse Gorge community we all want, where we all have access to safe and affordable homes.
As the Executive Director of the Mid-Columbia Housing Authority and Columbia Cascade Housing Corporation, I have pulled together a group of community leaders and advocates to help bring increased awareness and education about the issue and to track, and in some cases, start the conversation in our communities.
