Beacon Rock has been an important landmark since before Lewis and Clark put it on their maps. Now part of a WA State Park it offers both camping and hiking opportunities in the beautiful Columbia River Gorge National Scenic Area. IF you’re prepared for a moderate hike up Beacon Rock, the monolithic exposed core of an ancient volcano at the edge of the Columbia River, at the top you will be rewarded with an incredible panoramic view of the Columbia River Gorge that is well worth the climb. After your hike be sure to explore the adjacent nature trail to explore the lush diversity of this boreal rainforest environment.
