Lions, and Tigers, and Bears? Oh NO! There are none of those at Schreiner Farm, but there are plenty of other exotic animals to see as you drive through this unusual attraction on Hwy. 14 near Dallesport. There are bison, fallow deer, zebra, yak, ostrich, camel, reindeer, giraffe, and more that can be seen on either side of the drive.
Entry to Schreiner Farms is free and the gate is open most of the time. You must stay in your car and are only allowed to drive as far as the giraffe barns, about 1/2-mile in. But in that 1/2-mile you only need to keep your eyes open, your head on a swivel, and look carefully through the breaks in the hedges along the way to see an amazing array of exotic animals. The best time of day to see the most animals is when it’s cool, so mainly mornings and evenings during the late spring and summer or most anytime of the day during the fall and winter months.
This is a private ranch so PLEASE be respectful of the animals, the owners, the ranch hands, and other visitors. Drive slowly and quietly, and enjoy one of the best kept, hidden secrets of Klickitat County.
